Summer Youth Visual Art Camp
1st grade through high school
August 13 - August 17, 2007
am session: 8:30-12:30; pm session: 1:00-5:00
Kids from 1st grade and up have the opportunity to engage in painting, sculpture, mixed media & collaborative prjects integrated with tons of fundamental drawing & art history. Specific projects include portrait, animal & figure sketching, color theory, clay, paper mache, mosaics, fabric painting & more. instruction is tailored to each individual's age and skill. Teens have the option of working on independent projects for their portfolio & college preparation.
Instructor
Holly Swangstu offers expert guidance for students wishing to sharpen their technical skills. She strives for each class to have the feeling of a private tutoring session within a refreshingly healthy social setting. With over 14 years of teaching young people, she combines a love of art education with youth development principles in her programs. "I believe it is important to encourage each student to develop his or her own style while developing fundamental art vocabulary. We love discovering what makes each student unique. The goal is for the students to walk in to the studio as if it is their own and to go home feeling like they connected with a mentor and were challenged according to their own strengths and skill level."
$200, half day or $380 for full day. Supplies and t-shirt included.
Payment in full can be made with a credit card or by fax, or paid at the time of registration in person (with credit card, check or money order). It is non-refundable (unless classes are cancelled). A supply list will be provided at the time of registration or can be requested beforehand.
PLEASE NOTE: courses are held contingent on a minimum enrollment, which is determined three business days prior to a class start date. Students will be contacted only if there is a class cancellation or a change.
