Mission Statement
The Art Mine is committed to providing meaningful and enduring cultural
experiences for all visitors. We exhibit compelling works of fine art
and craft made by artists of national and regional
reputation, and we host an artist studio program to further the development
and success of the visual arts and crafts in the Olympic Peninsula.
Programs include:
3 galleries hosting curated exhibitions rotating on a monthly basis
Outdoor sculpture yard
Monthly art talks and wine tastings (3rd wed of every month)
Continuing education classes for adults and teenagers
Summer Youth Visual Art Camp (Aug 13-17)
Internship program
Private tours and receptions for groups
Founding Director and Curator of the new gallery is Eric
Swangstu. An accomplished artist and educator, Swangstu has shown
his paintings and drawings in New York, Washington DC, Kansas City and
many other galleries and museums across the US. As an educator and administrator,
he has worked at some of the leading art schools and museums including
the School of the Museum of Fine Arts,
Boston, Kansas City Art Institute,
and most recently, Pratt Institute in
New York City.
Located on Port Hadlock's Historic Waterfront, - inside 3 floors of the historic Inn at Port Hadlock, the Art Mine is open
on the following days:
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday 10am-6pm
Friday and Saturday 10am-8pm
Closed Mondays
